Be Confident Your Favorite Seafood Was Produced With Care.

“With the world’s population predicted to increase to 9 billion people by 2050 — particularly in areas that have high rates of food insecurity — aquaculture, if responsibly developed and practiced, can make a significant contribution to global food security and economic growth.”

— Árni M. Mathiesen
Assistant Director-General
FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Department

The “Best Aquaculture Practices Certified” mark means the facilities that raised and/or processed seafood adhere to responsible aquaculture practices that minimize environmental impacts, respect workers’ rights and produce wholesome products sustainably.

Many global, regional and local seafood buyers now require third-party seafood certification and participate in our BAP Registered Buyer Program. Click here for companies that procure seafood displaying the BAP mark from BAP-certified facilities.

“Through the use of BAP, we are able to demonstrate with confidence to our customers and stakeholders the credentials in our seafood supply chains.”
