GAA to Serve as Supporting Association at World Ocean Summit

For the second year in a row, the Global Aquaculture Alliance has teamed up with The Economist for its World Ocean Summit as a supporting association.

The World Ocean Summit takes place at St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from March 5 to 7. This year’s theme is “Building bridges,” and the sixth summit will strive to build greater collaboration across regions and connect the world to new ideas and perspectives. Featured topics include finance, technology, innovation and governance.

Melanie Siggs, GAA’s director of strategic engagements, will take part in a conference panel titled “In Conversation: How Can We Achieve Scale in Sustainable Aquaculture?” The panel description reads, “Some good progress has been made in sustainable aquaculture, and investment is beginning to flow. But can aquaculture become an even greater contributor to the supply of animal protein and relieve the pressure on the world’s capture fisheries while remaining sustainable?”

In addition to Siggs, representing GAA at the World Ocean Summit will be GAA Marketing Director Devan Meserve.

Friends of GAA are encouraged to use the discount code “1584GAA20″ when registering to get 20 percent off the registration fee.
